Forgive to Live seminar teaches health benefits of forgiveness
Glendale Heights – Adventist GlenOaks Hospital will remind people of the life-changing power of forgiveness through an eight-week course designed to help participants reframe their grievance stories. The course, entitled “Forgive to Live,” will meet from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursdays from Jan. 28 to March 18 in the lecture hall of Adventist GlenOaks Hospital. The course will be based on the message of Dr. Dick Tibbits’s book “Forgive to Live: How Forgiveness Can Save Your Life”.
Adventist GlenOaks Hospital Chaplain DeLora Hagen will facilitate the program using PowerPoint presentations created by Tibbits. The program will teach participants the health benefits of understanding and practicing forgiveness.
“Participants will be given materials that outline the steps they can follow to reframe their grievance stories,” said Hagen. “Forgiveness is a journey, and it is one that is very worthwhile.”
Tibbits, who has worked in behavioral and spiritual health for more than thirty years, wrote his book to help people design life strategies that would benefit them personally and professionally.
“This program takes people through each step of the forgiveness process,” Hagen said. “Forgiveness is vital to good physical and mental health.”
The course is free to attend but registration is limited. Each participant will receive a course manual and textbook. To enroll in this class or for further information please call the physician referral line at 630-856-7525.
