Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital chapel hosts 24/7 prayer experience

La Grange – Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital’s chapel has been transformed into a “house of prayer” this week. Different prayer stations have been set up to help bring us more aware of God’s presence in each of our lives, according to Jenny Tillay, the hospital’s manager of pastoral care.

From now until Sunday, July 15, physicians, employees, patients, and the community are invited to come to the hospital chapel, 5101 S. Willow Springs Road, to reflect on their prayers and dwell in God’s presence.

“One week of continuous prayer is an opportunity for us to partner with the community to pray for physical, emotional and spiritual needs,” Tillay said. “As Paul exhorted the early Christians in his first letter to the Thessalonians, we will ‘pray without ceasing.’”

Visitors can write their prayers on our Wailing Wall, add a prayer to the prayer journals, pray for loved ones who are far away by pinning their location on the prayer map, or spell out a prayer of thanksgiving on the Scrabble board.

Pray for others who have come to the house of prayer by picking a prayer from one of the bowls. Those of the Muslim faith can use the prayer rugs provided. Submit a prayer electronically by using our e-chaplain service.

The house of prayer project is modeled on a similar event that took place at Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital.
