Hinsdale – Adventist Midwest Health has named Ekta Punwani its vice president for performance improvement at Adventist Hinsdale and Adventist La Grange Memorial hospitals.
In her new role, Punwani will create a strategy to improve patient outcomes and patient safety. She joins Adventist Midwest Health from Advocate Health Care, where she worked as system administrator for operations improvement and project management.
“I’m excited to be in a new, evolving role for the organization,” Punwani said. “I look forward to developing a more robust, comprehensive performance program for our organization to achieve superior clinical and operational outcomes.”
Punwani previously worked in performance improvement at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, and as a senior consultant in health care strategies at Arthur Andersen. She also served on the Baldrige Board of Examiners for two years.
“Ekta brings valuable leadership skills and knowledge among varied aspects of performance improvement,” Adventist Hinsdale Hospital Chief Executive Officer Michael J. Goebel said. “She is a most welcome addition to our team.”
Punwani earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, and a master’s degree in health administration from Washington University in St. Louis.
Originally from Chicago, Punwani grew up in Naperville. She, her husband and their two children live in Aurora.
