Adventist Hinsdale Hospital Volunteer Kathryn Brackett Turns 100

There was cake, cookies, balloons and much joyful conversation during a Jan. 8 celebration of Adventist Hinsdale Hospital volunteer Kathryn Brackett’s 100th birthday.

Brackett has volunteered with the hospital since 1978, logging about 5,500 lifetime hours. She has worked mainly as part of a group that sews dog and cat pillows for pediatric patients at AHH.

Brackett is also a legacy member of the Hinsdale Hospital Foundation, along with her husband Harold, who died Nov. 26, 2012 at age 100. Kathryn Brackett officially turned 100 years old on Dec. 26. The couple was married for 74 years.

Joining in the Jan. 8 celebration were Brackett’s son, John Brackett, fellow hospital volunteers and AHH CEO Michael J. Goebel, as well as other administrators.
