Adventist Hinsdale Hospital to host world-renowned retreat

Hinsdale – Adventist Hinsdale Hospital is hosting a Renovaré Essential’s Conference on March 3 at the Christ Church of Oak Brook and the public is invited to attend. Every year, thousands of people attend Renovaré  retreats throughout the United States, Brazil, United Kingdom, Ireland and Korea.

Renovaré is a nonprofit organization that models, resources and advocates intentional living through Christian spiritual formation and discipleship. Drawing from the example and practices of Jesus and of the historical Church, Renovaré encourages a renewed, sustainable, and enriched life with God. The group was founded in 1988 by “Celebration of Discipline” author Richard J. Foster.

“We feel incredibly blessed to have been able to partner with Renovaré to host such a wonderful event for our community,” said Tricia Treft, a manager of pastoral care at Adventist Hinsdale Hospital.  “It will be an amazing experience for anyone looking to refresh and renew their spiritual focus.”

At the Oak Brook conference, attendees will learn the essential elements of a vibrant Christian life - grace, discipline, community and covenant from Renovaré team members. They will integrate conversation, teaching and worship to create a day full of insight and encouragement for anyone who needs their faith refreshed, their interest awakened or their spiritual life deepened.
Two nationally known speakers, Chris Webb and Mickey Cox, will also be speaking.

Webb is the President of Renovaré USA and comes from Wales, United Kingdom. Since his ordination into the Anglican Church, he has served as Vicar in various churches and in several administrative posts, including the office of Rowan Williams, who is now the Archbishop of Canterbury. Mickey Cox works in the Renovaré office as the ministry coordinator. He is ordained in the Church of the Nazarene, and has worked in youth ministry for more than 40 years. Both Webb and Cox have authored several successful books.

The conference will be from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on March 3 at the Christ Church of Oak Brook. Cost is $55 per person and includes all conference materials, continental breakfast, lunch and refreshments. People can register by calling (630) 856-7525 or online at  Space is limited.
