Introducing The Kindness Cart -

Our 2016 Inaugural Project

Gifts come in all sizes.  And sometimes, even the smallest gift can make someone else’s day a bit brighter or easier.  We may not be able to cure cancer overnight but we can do our part to bring someone who is battling it a smile, a little piece of comfort and calm.

That is the inspiration for the Associates Board’s very first gift: The Kindness Cart for the patients at AMITA Cancer Institute & Outpatient Center.

The Kindness Cart is a mobile unit stocked with thoughtful items that patients may use free of charge.  Maybe it’s a magazine to read while receiving a chemo treatment, a cup of ginger tea to calm the stomach, a heating pad to ease a nagging pain, even gum and snacks for long treatment sessions. We provide whatever we can because we know our generosity can heal.

Call the Foundation office at 630.856.2000 for more information.
