Hospital donates bedspreads, toys to local groups
Bolingbrook – Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital employees donated more than 100 thermal bedspreads plus three dozen towels to Bolingbrook Adventist Church and more than 100 toys to the Will County chapter of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program.
Environmental services department employees Kenny Price, Julie Sampson, Matt Ziesemer and Elizabeth Kolzow joined Vice President/Chief Financial Officer Todd Anderson and Vice President/Chief Nursing Officer Kathy Mitchell in dropping off and distributing the donation of bedding to visitors of the church’s food pantry on Dec. 6. The donations benefited 93 local families, including 150 children, according to Pastor Odea Sigh of Bolingbrook Adventist Church.
“During the holiday season and throughout the year, we’re always looking for ways we can partner with local churches and other organizations to help our community,” Anderson said.
The bedspreads and towels will be replaced as the hospital updates its color scheme.
From Nov. 30 to Dec. 14, hospital employees donated more than 100 new unwrapped toys, books, and games for the Will County chapter of Toys for Tots. This is the first year Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital supported the program. A collection box was placed in the hospital lobby near the Christmas tree; the donations were delivered Dec. 15 to the Boys and Girls Club in Joliet.
