Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital thanks Rotary Club for artwork donation

The Bolingbrook Hospital Foundation hosted a luncheon Wednesday, July 15 at Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital to recognize the Bolingbrook Rotary Club for donating artwork to the hospital. The organization donated $2,100, which was used to purchase 12 large framed photographs that line the corridor between the main lobby and the cafeteria. The series is entitled “My Life Time.”

The photographs depict scenes of healthy living, including a young girl blowing out candles on her birthday cake, a child making snow angels and Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital Vice President/Chief Nursing Officer Kathy Mitchell and her daughter walking with horses on a farm. A sign near the artwork proclaims: “We connect people to life.”

Cindy Gibbons, chairperson of the Bolingbrook Rotary Club Foundation, estimates that tens of thousands of community members will benefit from viewing the artwork. She called the hospital a welcome addition to the community.

“Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital is so much more than a building,” Gibbons said. “It is where our community members will experience the miracles of physical and spiritual healing and wellness.”

Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital Chief Executive Officer Rick Mace said the hospital is proud to partner with the Rotary Club and other local organizations.

“The Rotary has been one of our most important community supporters since our hospital opened in 2008,” Mace said.

Derek Cazeau, executive director of the Bolingbrook Hospital Foundation, thanked the Bolingbrook Rotary Club for its gift.

“This artwork complements our whole-person approach to wellness, which takes into account mind, body and spirit,” Cazeau said. “With floor-to-ceiling windows and artwork showcasing the four seasons, Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital has a strong connection to the outside world.”

Each photo is approximately 22 by 33 inches in size unframed and 33½ by 44½ inches framed.
