Hinsdale – Former Chicago Blackhawks player Marty Lapointe, now one of the team’s pro scouts, brought the 2010 Stanley Cup to Adventist Hinsdale Hospital today. The Hinsdale resident posed for pictures with hospital staff, volunteers, physicians, and guests in Regnery Auditorium before heading up to the pediatric unit and lighting up the faces of sick kids and their families.
This is the second time the nearly 35-pound trophy has traveled to Adventist Hinsdale Hospital since the Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup finals earlier this year. Brent Sopel, who was part of the title-winning team and lived in Hinsdale, brought the cup to the hospital’s Koplin Emergency & Trauma Center Aug. 2.
