Glendale Heights - Adventist GlenOaks Hospital is proud to sponsor a community breakfast highlighting the 59th annual National Day of Prayer. Naperville resident the Rev. Eugene H. Winkler, interim pastor of University Church of Chicago, will give the keynote address. This is the 11th year Adventist GlenOaks is sponsoring the event along with other community groups.
Winkler previously served for 13 years as senior pastor of the First Methodist Church of Chicago and is currently serving as an adjunct professor at the Divinity School of the University of Chicago.
The event is scheduled 7:30 to 9 a.m. Thursday, May 6, at the Glendale Lakes Golf Club, 1550 President St., Glendale Heights.
Winkler’s keynote address, “The 3 G’s of Faith” will focus on guilt, gratitude and grace, uniting individuals of all faiths among nations. “We can bring individuals together by embracing the heritage of faith,” Winkler said.
DeLora Hagen, manager of pastoral care at Adventist GlenOaks Hospital, said the prayer breakfast is natural outgrowth of the hospital’s faith-based mission in the community.
“We want to share Christ’s love and healing care beyond the hospital walls,” she said.
Tickets for the public are $20 a person or $150 for a table of eight. Please RSVP by calling (630) 856-7525.
The event will also feature the music ministry of Annie Sander and Tom Vitacco, professional local musicians who are active at their local church, Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington.
The event’s other sponsors are: Kiwanis Club of Addison, Addison Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Bloomingdale Chamber of Commerce, Carol Stream Chamber of Commerce, Glendale Heights Chamber of Commerce, Glen Ellyn Chamber of Commerce and Allegra Print & Imaging.
