Adventist Hinsdale Hospital and Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital employees currently in nursing school are eligible for a new scholarship to defray the costs of books, fees and supplies.
Established by the AHH/ALMH medical staff, scholarships of up to $100 are available to benefit-eligible employees who meet the following qualifications:
• employed at AHH or ALMH for at least one year,
• currently in nursing school pursuing an LPN, RSN, BSN, or MSN degree,
• registered for the fall or winter quarter (2008),
• spent at least $100 on textbooks or supplies.
Applications are available on the Intranet. Click on "Nursing Scholarship" on the Human Resources page. For more information, contact Laurie Kniola at (630) 312-7319.
Applications must be received by Dec. 15; the scholarships will be awarded in January.
Dr. Sherwin Waldman, president of the AHH/ALMH medical staff, said physicians created the scholarship to help nurses and employees seeking to become nurses.
"We don’t say ‘thank you’ often enough to the people around us who make our jobs easier," he said. "This scholarship is a way to show our appreciation. Educational advancement is so important in the medical field and we know how expensive it can be."
