La Grange – La Grange Memorial Hospital Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Brett Skeen as executive director. Skeen, 37, of Naperville, comes to the foundation with more 13 years of fundraising experience, with strong skills in the area of major gifts, capital campaigns, strategic planning and project direction.
“Encouraging the community to get involved and invested in Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital’s healing mission is a tremendous opportunity,” Skeen said.
The foundation furthers the mission of Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital through philanthropy.
Most recently, Skeen was president of his own consulting firm, BAS Consulting, Inc. He has assisted clients in a wide range of industries – including health care, higher and secondary education, and other nonprofits – in raising more than $175 million in support of capital and endowment campaigns, appeals and special events.
Skeen’s appointment was effective March 15. He replaces Beth Leuck, who retired.
Prior to starting his own business, Skeen was campaign director at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet and vice president of Community Counseling Service, Chicago.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from the University of Illinois and is pursuing designation as a Certified Fund Raising Executive through CFRE International, a professional organization that certifies fundraising executives and sets standards in philanthropy.
“We welcome Brett to our team and are confident his skills will help us fulfill our mission of extending the healing ministry of Christ,” said Rick Wright, chief executive officer of Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital.
