Bolingbrook, IL – For the third year in a row, Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital employees are spearheading an effort to purchase and fill up backpacks to deliver to local students. The supplies will be delivered to kids in kindergarten through fifth grade in the Valley View Public School District 365U. Donations are being collected July 22 – Aug. 19.
Last year, employees were able to fill 38 brand new backpacks with grade-appropriate supplies – including crayons, markers, notebooks, and folders – for elementary school children.
“We look forward to the day when we can deliver an entire truckload of backpacks,” said Kathy Mitchell, chief nursing officer at Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital.
Community members are encouraged to donate school supplies or backpacks. Cash donations also are welcome. For a school supplies list, log on to www.vvsd.org, click on school information, and then school supplies. All donations can be dropped of at Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital, 500 Remington Boulevard.
