The La Grange Memorial Hospital Foundation announced the appointment of two community leaders to its board of directors: Michael Marcucci, and Dr. Bonny Chen. The foundation furthers the mission of Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital through philanthropy.
“We are delighted to have these leaders join our board,” said Beth Leuck, executive director of the foundation. “By giving of themselves, these individuals are paving the way for a brighter future for our patients, and we value their service.”
Marcucci is the co-founder and CEO of Alpha Baking Co., one of the largest privately held commercial bakeries in the U.S. Alpha, the baker of S. Rosen's and Natural Ovens breads, has more than 1,400 employees, approximately 300 delivery trucks, and four bakeries in the Midwest. Alpha Baking’s awards include: Top Sysco Supplier, Top Burger King Supplier, Kroger Bakeries Supplier of the Year, and Sosland Publication’s Baker of the Year.
This La Grange resident graduated from the University of Wisconsin in Madison with a degree in economics, and interned with the Joint Economic Committee of Congress in Washington. Marcucci’s interests include golf, tennis, politics, and finance.
“Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital has always offered my favorite civic activities,” said Marcucci. “I am so honored to now be a part of the foundation’s effort of extending the healing ministry of Christ.”
Chen works at Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital as an attending emergency department physician. Chen graduated from the University of Michigan Medical School. She completed her internship at the University of Hawaii, and her emergency medicine residency at Cook County Hospital, which is now known as John H. Stronger Jr. Hospital.
This Hinsdale resident enjoys photography, travel, golf, music, and mountain climbing.
“As an emergency department physician, I witness the excellent medical care that is provided to our community,” said Chen. “I am proud to have the opportunity to serve on the La Grange Memorial Hospital Foundation Board of Directors. During my term, I plan to promote and assist in the continuing development of our outstanding medical institution.”
