Bolingbrook – The Bolingbrook Hospital Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of three civic leaders to officer positions on its board of directors: Chairman Ron Hawkins, Vice-chairman Tom Castagnoli, and Secretary/Treasurer Ric Morales.
The foundation furthers the mission of Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital through philanthropy.
“We are honored these three dedicated community members have decided to take on leadership positions for our board,” said Derek Cazeau, executive director of the Bolingbrook Hospital Foundation.
Hawkins, a Bolingbrook resident, recently retired as vice president/national ombudsman of McDonald’s USA, LLC. He has served on the foundation’s board of directors since 2008. He also serves on the building committee for his church, St. John African Methodist Episcopal Church in Aurora, and is a former board member of the DuSable Museum in Chicago.
Hawkins’ history with Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital dates back to his involvement in a community fundraiser for the hospital foundation before the hospital’s 2008 opening.
“From treating newborns with breathing problems to providing nursing scholarships to graduating high school seniors to ensuring the availability of defibrillators in key areas of the hospital, the Bolingbrook Hospital Foundation has supported so many worthwhile projects that benefit our community,” Hawkins said. “I’m proud to give my time to an organization committed to service.”
Castagnoli, of Naperville, is general manager of Forest City Enterprises, parent company of The Promenade Bolingbrook. He has worked in retail property management since 1987. Through the managing of Fox Valley, Louis Joliet, North Riverside and Randhurst malls, he has worked with many chambers of commerce along with other local community groups. He has served on the Bolingbrook Hospital Foundation board since 2009.
“Serving on Bolingbrook Hospital Foundation’s board gives me a chance to give back to the community,” Castagnoli said.
Morales, of Bolingbrook, is vice president of Park National Bank in Naperville and a Bolingbrook village trustee. He has served on the Bolingbrook Hospital Foundation board since 2009 and also serves on the village’s public works and finance committees.
In addition, Morales serves on the Illinois Procurement Policy board and the Bolingbrook Fire Pension Board. Morales is past president of the Bolingbrook Area Chamber of Commerce and from 2002-2004 served on a committee that organized the March of Dimes’ annual March for Babies Walk in Bolingbrook.
“Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital is one of Will County’s crown jewels,” Morales said. “We are very proud to have a medical facility that provides high-quality professional health services in our community.”
Morales has nothing but praise for Adventist Midwest Health ever since he and his wife received excellent service at Adventist Hinsdale Hospital during the birth of their two children.
