Adventist Hinsdale Hospital offers
childbirth, parenting classes
Hinsdale, IL – For expectant moms, dads and even siblings, Adventist Hinsdale Hospital offers a range of programs.
Baby Care Basics: Features advice on newborn care including feeding, emergency techniques, car safety, choosing a caregiver and more. Class costs $20.
My Mommy’s Having a Baby: A puppet show for siblings 3 to 7 years old and their parents. Cost is $10 per child; $15 for families.
Prenatal Breastfeeding Class: Taught by certified lactation consultants, this class is for expectant moms and their support person. Cost is $20 per couple.
Prepared Childbirth: Taught by certified childbirth educators, this five-week class includes a discussion of the birth process, Lamaze method, pain medications, epidural anesthesia, breathing and relaxation techniques and a tour of The Birck Center. Cost is $95.
Prepared Childbirth Refresher Marathon: Certified childbirth educators will review Lamaze, relaxation, breathing techniques and sibling adjustment for parents who have completed a childbirth series for a previous birth. $40 per couple.
Vaginal Birth After Cesarean: For expectant mothers who have already experienced a Cesarean birth and her support person. $20 per couple.
Prenatal Exercise Pool Class: Conducted by a licensed physical therapist, this class is designed to maintain flexibility and muscle tone; increase posture awareness and lifting techniques. Cost is $96, and it is held at the Adventist Paulson Rehab Willowbrook, 619 Plainfield Road, Willowbrook.
Birth Center Tours: Free guided tours of The Birck Center. Call for dates and times.
Pediatric Tours: Tours of the Pediatric Unit are available to make children more comfortable in the hospital environment prior to a scheduled surgery appointment.
