Adventist Midwest Health honors service representative

Service representative Maryanne Rhoades, of Lisle, is Adventist Midwest Health’s 2011 employee of the year. She is pictured with Pam Williams, Vice President for Physician Services for Adventist Midwest Health.

Maryanne Rhoades of Lisle, account services representative for Adventist Midwest Management Services, diligently works with the insurance team and talks with patients to ensure claims are promptly paid.

“Each time that I work on an account and, through my hard work, I get a claim paid, is exciting to me,” Rhoades said.

Rhoades can adapt to any circumstance and she works hard and learn new skills. Other positions Rhoades has held prior to coming to Adventist Midwest Health include being a secretary for a bank president, a receptionist and a biller for an gynecologist’s office.

“My parents instilled a great work ethic in me,” Rhoades said, “and I think of myself as a giving person.”

Adventist Midwest Management Services recently named Rhoades its 2011 Employee of the Year and recognized her at its annual Employee of the Year celebration in February. Each Employee of the Year received a plaque and a $1,000 check.

“I have seen Maryanne grow in her leadership abilities and strengths over the past few years,” said Pam Williams, vice president for physician services for Adventist Midwest Health. “To say that she exceeds my expectations is an understatement. She is a true treasure to our organization.”

Rhoades came to Adventist Midwest Management services in 2008 ago after exiting the workforce to spend six years caring for her granddaughter. She had been employed at the doctor’s office for nearly 11 years when she left, but she wanted to give her granddaughter the same care her own three children had received.

“I was lucky enough to stay home and raise my children,” Rhoades said, “And to me, that’s the hardest and best job ever.”

Rhoades has three adult children, David, Rob and Jenn, and five granddaughters: Reese, 10; Claire, 6; Sadie, 4; and Sydney, 3; and Chesney, 16 months. Rhoades also has another grandchild due in November. In addition, Rhoades is a guild member at St. Patrick’s Residence in Naperville.

“This is the nursing home that cared for my mom for five years,” Rhoades said. “They were wonderful to her and I am trying to give back to them.”
