Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital doctor receives award
La Grange – As a result of his hard work and dedication to service, Dr. Ken Nelson of Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital recently received the community service award by the West Suburban Chamber of Commerce and Industry for his time spent with the Community Nurse Health Association. Nelson serves his community and his hospital by providing exceptional health care to patients in need.
“I enjoy helping patients and am motivated by the privilege to perform medicine,” says Nelson. “I am personally honored to work with an organization whose volunteers provide such valuable service.”
As the clinic’s medical director, Nelson says his job is made easy by the incredible Community Nurse Health Association team. In fact, many of the doctors and staff from Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital who volunteer at the clinic have worked there for more than 10 years.
Nelson has worked primarily out of Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital for 24 years, and strongly believes that providing high quality health care should be a physician’s number one priority.
“We are very proud of Dr. Nelson’s accomplishment,” said Chief Executive Officer Rick Wright. “Ken exhibits the strong dedication to medicine that we value here at Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital.”
After earning his bachelor’s degree at Illinois Benedictine College, Nelson continued his education at Chicago Medical School and did his residency training at Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital. Nelson currently resides in Western Springs with his wife, Karen, and four daughters.
