La Grange – Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital is pleased to announce the appointment of Lary A. Davis as chief executive officer, effective June 30. Davis, 58, comes to this new role with more than 20 years of senior-level healthcare experience, most recently as vice president, physician strategies, for Adventist Health Systems’ Tampa, Fla., region.
“Lary is known as a ‘physician’s CEO,’ and he counts the physicians he serves as his friends and colleagues,” said David L. Crane, president and chief executive officer, Adventist Midwest Health. “Building and maintaining strong relationships with our physicians is integral to Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital’s future.”
Davis was selected following a nationwide search. He replaces Rick Wright, who left the organization in 2011.
“Built on a foundation of strong community support, Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital has an excellent reputation and a bright future,” Davis said. “My goal is to improve quality and patient safety outcomes, expand services and make our hospital the best place for physicians to practice medicine.”
Prior to his most recent position, Davis was vice president of physician strategies at Florida Hospital Zephyrhills. His past experience also includes serving president and CEO of Sonora Regional Medical Center in Sonora, Calif., where he worked for more than 20 years.
Davis will be working very closely with Michael J. Goebel, his counterpart at Adventist Hinsdale Hospital, to strengthen both hospitals in their respective communities.
Davis and his wife, Vicki, have one adult son.
Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital opened in 1955 and has 205 licensed beds.
