thanked emergency response personnel by hosting its annual EMS Appreciation Golf Outing Aug. 14.
Nearly 100 people attended the event, which welcomed emergency services personnel from the Addison, Carol Stream and Glenside Fire Departments. Representatives from the villages of Glendale Heights, Addison and Bloomingdale Township also attended.
An annual event dating back to the 1980s, this year’s golf outing was held at the Glendale Lakes Golf Club, 1550 President St. in Glendale Heights. The event began with lunch and a shotgun start. The day closed out with dinner, raffle and an awards ceremony.
The Carol Stream Fire Protection District were this winners of this year’s Chief’s Trophy, which will be on display at the district firehouse for one year.
The overall best, lowest scoring foursome at the event was a team comprised of Bloomingdale Township Highway Commissioner Robert Czernek, Mark Shulman, Bob Nogan and Bruno Barton.
“We are able to serve our patients and communities only with the hard work and support from the fine emergency service personnel working throughout the area,” said Bruce C. Christian, chief executive officer at Adventist GlenOaks Hospital. “Our annual golf outing is just one way we can say thank you for all they do for us and our patients.”
