Glendale Heights – For the 16th year, Adventist GlenOaks Hospital is connecting residents to health, safety, education and prevention with the annual Glendale Heights Family Health & Safety Fair.
From 5-7:30 p.m. Oct. 3, at Marquardt Middle School, 1912 N. Glen Ellyn Road, Glendale Heights, Adventist GlenOaks Hospital will provide flu shots and blood sugar screenings. Quantities are limited and are on a first-come, first served basis to adults 18 and older with valid identification.
Adventist GlenOaks Hospital will also conduct free blood pressure checks, hand strength testing, pulmonary function testing and range of motion screenings. All are first come, first served while supplies last.
In addition, Adventist GlenOaks Hospital will provide information about nutrition, childbirth, heart care, emotional health and spiritual life.
Although the residents of Glendale Heights and its surrounding communities will reap the benefits of this free event, Bruce C. Christian, CEO of Adventist GlenOaks Hospital, believes the health fair is an extension of the hospital’s mission.
“We’ve served the Glendale Heights community for more than three decades,” Christian said, “and are pleased to give back to the community that supports us by providing the highest caliber medical care close to home.”
The event is also sponsored by Marquardt School District 15, Queen Bee School District 16, Village of Glendale Heights, Glenside Fire Protection District, Bloomingdale Fire Protection District, Glenside Library District, Bloomingdale Library, Glenbard Township High School District 87 and Chicago Blower Corporation.
