Bolingbrook – Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital is pleased to announce the promotion of Diane Leonard, RN, from O.B. clinical manager to director of nursing for women’s and children’s services and medical/surgical. Leonard has been in the nursing profession for 30 years.
“I absolutely love waking up in the morning and knowing that I have such a fantastic job,” said Leonard. “Working for an organization dedicated to the mission of extending the healing ministry of Christ is truly inspiring.”
This Bolingbrook resident has worked at Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital since its beginning.
“I still remember my first day, it was in July of 2007,” said Leonard. “The paint was still wet and in some cases the walls had not yet been painted, but I knew from then the hospital would be a success.”
Leonard was recognized as a finalist for the Greater Chicago Nursing Spectrum 2009 Excellence Award in the management category. This event was held May 7 at Drury Lane in Oakbrook Terrace.
In her free time, she enjoys watching soap operas, gardening, and reading. Leonard reports to having the most fun on the weekends with her two boys – ages 12 and 19 – and her husband. Every Saturday the family goes out to eat, and then it’s off to church Sunday morning followed by a homemade meal.
Leonard’s strong will to help, and willingness to give back has left an impact on those that she comes in contact with.
