Bolingbrook, IL – Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital, the first new hospital in Illinois in over 25 years, will be hosting a grand opening celebration at the long-awaited new hospital on Sunday, November 18 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The new 138-bed, 300,000 square-foot hospital will be one of the area’s largest employers and is intended to meet the growing healthcare needs of the communities in and around Will County. The hospital is expected to be fully-operational on Sunday, December 9.
“This day has been more than 25 years in the making,” said Isaac Palmer, Chief Executive Officer of Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital. “We are excited for the community to finally get a chance to see what we have to offer from the state-of-the-art medical equipment to the amenities in the private patient rooms. Everything has been chosen to create a better healing environment for the patient.”
The day’s program begins at 1:00 pm, directly outside of the main entrance to the hospital at 500 Remington Blvd. in Bolingbrook. Community residents, employees and local officials will be on-hand to see the new facility and participate in the festivities. Participants include:

“Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital is a critically important addition to the Village of Bolingbrook and we now officially welcome the hospital with open arms into our community,” said Mayor of Bolingbrook, Roger C. Claar. “We have enjoyed a great relationship with Adventist Bolingbrook Medical Center over the years and we know that partnership will continue with the hospital for years to come.”
At the Grand Opening celebration, guests will have the opportunity to tour the private patient rooms, birthing and surgical suites and the new emergency department, among other areas of the new facility.
Entertainment will be provided by The Midnight Circus, an ensemble of acrobats, actors, clowns and musicians that will transform the hospital into a memorable event for the entire community. Additionally, the Kid Zone will feature a face painter, a balloonist and a magician for the entire family to enjoy. Expecting parents can attend a special baby shower in the OB unit with games and gifts, hosted by Babies R Us.
“We’ve spent years focused on getting this hospital up and running with the best nurses, physicians, medical equipment and specialties in the region,” said Palmer. “We are looking forward to setting a new standard for health and caring in the region, when we admit our first patients next month.”
