More than 1,500 people are expected to attend this year’s Cancer Survivors Day event, “Swinging Toward the Cure,” hosted by Adventist Hinsdale Hospital and Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital. This event will be from 12 to 2:30 p.m., Sunday, July 26, at The Wellness House, 131 N. County Line Road, Hinsdale.
Cancer Survivors Day is a joyous event that caters to individuals who received cancer-related treatment at Adventist Hinsdale Hospital or Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital. Each guest will be honored with a picnic lunch and special presentation.
The speaker, Greg Risberg, C.S.P., M.S.W., has addressed over a half-million people in 48 states, as well as Canada, England, and Australia. He is proud to have earned the Certified Speaking Professional designation from the National Speakers Association – a certification that only 375 individuals in the country have acquired.
“I think people learn best in an atmosphere of fun,” Risberg said, “so my goal is to be ‘hilariously informative.’”
Risberg’s 25-minute “Humor, Hugs, and Hope!” presentation helps people learn how to handle stress, communicate more effectively, and maintain balance in their lives.
Although this Elmhurst resident has honed in on his craft for the past 25 years, his free time is filled with kayaking, biking, and his newest feat – remodeling his kitchen.
