Acute Hospitalization Rehabilitation Services
For patients hospitalized due to medical instability or surgical intervention, Adventist Midwest Health's Rehabilitation Services offers comprehensive therapy options to restore a person's health. Located at four Acute Care hospitals in the Adventist system, services include:
- Therapy sessions up to 7 days per week (depending on diagnosis and need)

- Orthopedic Rehabilitation
- Neurological Rehabilitation
- Spinal Rehabilitation
- Wound Care
- Pain Management
- Hand Therapy
- Lymphedema Treatment
- Cognitive Retraining
- Swallow Studies and Dysphagia Therapy
- Voice Therapy
Treatment focus is on restoring each person’s health while maximizing functional independence and transitioning to either the home or another rehabilitation setting.

For patients who require intense rehabilitation from two or more therapies and can tolerate several hours of treatment per day, we offer admission to the Adventist Midwest Health's Rehabilitation Services inpatient rehabilitation unit, located at the Adventist Hinsdale Hospital 3 North Nursing Unit.
At this 21-bed CARF-accredited unit, your individual treatment program will be assessed by Board Certified physicians, specializing in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, with access to all the hospital’s specialized services:
- 24-hour nursing rehabilitation services
- Therapy sessions available 7 days a week/therapy gym located on nursing unit
- Physical therapy
- Occupational Therapy
- Speech Pathology
- Therapeutic Recreation
- Rehab Social Services
Services are offered in compliance with Medicare and insurance guidelines
Upon discharge, additional services, such as outpatient therapy and home health services, are available.
