About Our Leadership

Rick Mace, Chief Executive Officer

Rick Mace has always felt called to work in environments where he could help others. That's why he's spent more than 34 years in health care, with nearly 20 years dedicated to the Adventist Health System.

Before joining Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital shortly after it opened in 2008, Mace previously served for seven years as vice president of the clinical services division at Kettering Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio. Before that he spent 15 years at Florida Hospital Medical Center as vice president of operations.

Mace's greatest gift is his ability to inspire others to achieve lofty goals. “If there's one thing I believe in, it’s being an engaged CEO,” he said. “I need to be a part of a team that’s solving problems and removing obstacles so our caregivers can focus on the patient.”

Mace received his bachelor's degree from Walla Walla University, and holds two master’s degrees; one from Loma Linda University, and one from Rollins College Crummer School of Business.

Mike Murrill, Chief Financial Officer

Mike Murrill started his career within Adventist Health System at Porter Adventist Hospital in Denver, Colo. He completed the two year administrative residency program at Porter and stayed on for three more years working in business operations. He then worked as finance manager at Avista Adventist Hospital in Louisville, Colo., before coming to Illinois, where he was the finance manager at Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital.

In 2011, Murrill joined Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital as CFO where he partners with leaders to deliver quality and efficient patient care. His natural charisma and team-building style make him a skilled and respected team member. His contributions go beyond the bottom line; he is an avid supporter of community events and blood drives.

He received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Mich. and earned a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Colorado.

Jolene Albaugh, RN, BSN, Chief Nursing Officer

On Jolene Albaugh’s first day of work at Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital, she was charged with creating, supervising and managing every detail of the surgical department in the brand new hospital.

“We were determined, and we were dedicated,” said Albaugh about those early days. “We built departments and hired a staff of more than 400 people. From the moment I walked through the doors, this was my hospital.”

Albaugh came to the hospital with more than 30 years of nursing experience and is not only a dedicated clinician, but a strong, results-driven leader. She's known for routinely wearing scrubs so she can jump in and assist her team at a moment's notice.

Albaugh holds an RN degree from Morton College and a BSN degree from Rasmussen College. She has been the chief nursing officer since 2010.
