Heartburn, Barrett’s Esophagus subject of Oct. 23 seminar
Hinsdale – Gastroenterologist Dr. Daksesh Patel will discuss “Healing Heartburn and Barrett’s Esophagus
” during a free seminar set for Oct. 23.
The seminar will be hosted by both Adventist Hinsdale
and Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospitals
, and will run from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, in the fifth floor regional board room at Adventist Hinsdale, 120 Oak St.
Dr. Patel will discuss the causes, symptoms and treatment options available for Barrett’s esophagus, the precancerous condition that can result from Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease. Those attending will get a better understanding of what is behind GERD and how to better manage it.
Board certified in both gastroenterology and internal medicine, Dr. Patel
is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterology Association and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
His clinical interests include the diagnosis and treatment of Barrett’s esophagus, pancreatic and biliary disorders and gastrointestinal cancers.
