Bolingbrook, IL – Adventist Midwest Health is pleased to announce the appointment of Vinnie Garufi to director of organizational development, a new position in the human resources department. Garufi will be charged with assisting hospital administrators in continuing to enhance the company’s culture so patient care remains the top priority.
The appointment was effective Jan. 28. Previously, Garufi was director of business alignment and integration at Adventist HealthCare in Rockville, Md., where he worked for five years. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Towson University and a master’s degree in industrial/organizational psychology from the University of Baltimore.
With experience in both human resources and sales and marketing, Garufi says he’s ready to take on the challenges that can come with change. His first order of business is to interpret the responses from last year’s Gallup Employee Engagement Survey, of which about 4,000 Adventist Midwest Health employees participated.
“As we seek to improve employee engagement, communication is essential to ensure that our employees are equipped with the tools they need to move the organization forward,” Garufi said.
Don Russell, regional vice president of human resources for Adventist Midwest Health, called Garufi an asset to the team.
“Vinnie is well qualified to help us meet the healthcare needs of the future,” Russell said.
Garufi, 31, lives in Elmhurst, and works out of Adventist Midwest Health’s Bolingbrook office.
