Associate vice president of marketing hired

Bolingbrook, IL – Adventist Midwest Health is pleased to announce the appointment of John Ruhl as associate vice president of marketing. A health care marketing professional with more than 14 years of experience, Ruhl will be responsible for retooling Adventist Midwest Health’s marketing services infrastructure, specifically focusing on developing customer relationship management systems that integrate the hospital’s Web site,, and call center.

“John brings a wealth of experience in health care marketing, planning and business development to Adventist Midwest Health,” said Thomas J. Williams, regional vice president and chief administrative officer of Adventist Midwest Health. “John will play an integral role in ensuring our focus remains on providing the best care to our customers.”


Ruhl, a 40-year-old Chicago resident, spent the past 11 years at Advocate Health Care in Oak Brook, where he was corporate manager of customer relationship management. He earned his bachelor’s degree in marketing management at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minn., and his master’s degree in leadership and change management at DePaul University in Chicago.


“The leadership at Adventist is really enthusiastic about marketing," Ruhl said. “This is a real opportunity to build a strong and effective marketing initiative.”


Ruhl’s appointment was effective Jan. 28. This is a new position.
