The Adventist La Grange Family Medicine Residency program is pleased to offer family medicine core clerkships to third year medical students.
Clerkships run for four or six weeks, and are a combination of clinics, lectures and seminars, group discussions, home health care, hospice and meetings with faculty.
We rotate four to five medical students at a time. We currently have 22 medical students a year from Rush Medical College, six medical students a year from Loyola School of Medicine, six medical students a year from Midwestern University Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine and six medical students a year from University of Illinois at Chicago.
In addition to core clerkship slots, we offer M4 medical students a Family Medicine Sub I elective. the elective consists of a four week rotation in our hospital, rounding with a senior resident on inpatient service and several outpatient clinics in our Family Medicine center clinic.
To be eligible, medical students must currently be enrolled in a United States ACGME accredited medical school and must be highly interested in pursuing family medicine as a career.
The elective is available during the months of August, September, October and November only in a four-week block
