Hinsdale, IL – Dr. Jerome Hines, a cardiologist who treats patients at Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital, Adventist Hinsdale Hospital and Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital, recently was named governor elect of the Illinois chapter of the American College of Cardiology. He will serve as governor elect for one year and as governor through 2012.
Hines is president of Illinois Heart and Vascular, a specialty group of 27 cardiologists. Formerly known as West Suburban Cardiologists, Illinois Heart and Vascular formed in 1972. Hines earned his undergraduate degree from Harvard University, a Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of Chicago and a medical degree from Northwestern University, where he completed his internship and residency in internal medicine. He then completed fellowships in both cardiology and interventional cardiology at Loyola Medical Center.
The American College of Cardiology is a 33,000-member nonprofit medical society that formulates health policy, standards and guidelines and promotes cardiovascular research. It provides professional education and operates national registries for the measurement and improvement of care.
