Hinsdale – Adventist Hinsdale Hospital is hosting a capital campaign kick-off and groundbreaking celebration for the new patient pavilion Sept. 23. A reception is scheduled at 6 p.m., with the program to begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Dr. David B. Calandra Circle on the hospital campus, 120 N. Oak St., Hinsdale.
The public is invited to attend, but space and parking are very limited. RSVP by calling 630-856-7525. Please park in the east parking garage; enter at Walnut Street.
“We’re grateful for the amount of community support we’ve received on this project,” said David L. Crane, president and chief executive officer of Adventist Hinsdale Hospital. “This event will be a celebration of our renewed commitment to providing excellent care.”
Adventist Hinsdale Hospital’s new patient pavilion will feature private patient rooms and many home-like amenities. Other improvements include newly-designed patient units that bring caregivers closer to the bedside with modern workstations and corridors. There will be a new critical care unit and surgical services department, plus a bright and spacious lobby and a new chapel.
Earlier this summer, pre-construction activities began for the pavilion. In July, the main (Oak Street) entrance to the hospital closed. Traffic now enters the visitors parking garage and the hospital from Elm Street, which borders the west side of the hospital campus. All patient drop-offs, parking and valet access now take place within the visitor parking garage. The Elm Street entrance will be used for the 18-month duration of the project.
