La Grange – La Grange Memorial Hospital Foundation is pleased to announce its upcoming “Jazz Under the Stars” event July 11 at The Pavilions at Brookfield Zoo. Proceeds from the extravaganza will be used to purchase a Wi-Fi communication system to enhance patient care and satisfaction.
The event begins with cocktails at 6:30 p.m. followed by dinner, live music, dancing and an auction at the exotic Pavilions at Brookfield Zoo, 3300 Golf Road, Brookfield. The atmosphere will be a bit more relaxed compared to years past.
“We’re pleased to introduce a fresh look and new location for this historically popular but formal event,” said G. Grant Dixon III, who is co-chairing the event with his wife, Susan Dixon. “We are suggesting cocktail attire instead of black tie. We want everyone to be able to relax and enjoy each other’s company for a worthy cause.”
That worthy cause is a phone system that allows patients and caregivers to have immediate access to each other, and more importantly provides patients with a higher level of security, comfort and care.
“When a patient is hospitalized, this increased sense of communication and level of care will offer comfort and reassurance to them.” Susan Dixon said.
Dr. Eric Yang, a surgeon who treats patients at Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital, also is co-chairing the event with his wife, Shirley Yang.
“We hope the community will help us take on this important project,” said Dr. Eric Yang.
The philanthropic foundation supports capital endeavors and day-to-day needs at Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital, 5101 S. Willow Springs Road, La Grange, through events such as “Jazz Under the Stars.”
Tickets are $150 each, with pavilion sponsorships available from $500. For details, call Diane Lillwitz at (708) 245-2904.
