Hinsdale – More than 150 families touched by Adventist Hinsdale Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit are expected to attend a reunion sponsored by the hospital and the Birck Family Women and Children’s Services. The 15th annual Neonatal Graduate Reunion is scheduled 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 12 at The Community House, 415 W. Eighth St., Hinsdale. Parents of children who were treated in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit are invited. To register, call (630) 856-7525.
This year’s theme is “Wild West Adventure.” A raffle will take place at 2 p.m. Other activities include games, crafts, storytelling and a special performance by the “Twin Girls Rock” band. The band features 11-year-old La Grange Highlands twins Courtney (on drums) and Arden (on electric guitar) Kurhayez. The girls were born prematurely in 1999 weighing just 1.11 and 1.8 pounds. Grateful for their care, the Kurhayez family attends the reunion every year.
“If it wasn’t for the doctors and nurses at Adventist Hinsdale Hospital, my children would not be who they are today,” said the twins’ mother, Laura Kurhayez.
