Dinner discussion focuses on women’s health, wellness
Hinsdale – Women’s health and wellness will be the topic of discussion Oct. 15 and 16 during a pair of special dining events hosted by the Adventist Cancer Institute.

From 7 to 9 p.m. both Oct. 15 and 16, the Adventist Cancer Institute will welcome women to Prasino, 93. S. La Grange Road in La Grange, for a special three-course dinner and physician discussion. The cost is $35 a person, with a portion of the event’s proceeds benefitting the La Grange Memorial Hospital Foundation’s Open Arms Fund.

The Foundation’s Open Arms Fund focuses on sustaining programs dedicated to supporting breast cancer patients and their families. The goal is to bring hope and healing by helping individuals navigate the difficult journey through cancer diagnosis, treatment and recovery.

Dr. Rekha Harting and Dr. Kimberly Bruneau will speak Oct. 15, while Dr. Mita Majmundar and Dr. John Payne will speak the following evening. Among the health topics the doctors may cover are perimenopausal symptoms, estrogen therapy, nutrition and fad diets, stress reduction, and breast cancer prevention and treatment. Guests are encouraged to participate in the discussion and ask questions about health topics of interest to them.

In addition to the presentation and discussion with the doctors, women will have the chance to schedule a mammogram if they wish.

“We want to provide women with the information they need to live healthier lifestyles,” said Kathy Hall, executive director of Oncology Services with Adventist Hinsdale and Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospitals. “By living healthier today, women will have the opportunity to get even greater enjoyment out of the rest of their lives.”

Both evenings, Prasino Chef Lonnie Liming will also discuss how he prepared the evening’s meal and offer tips on healthy cooking.

Each attendee automatically receives a raffle opportunity to win a dinner for six prepared by Prasino’s chef either in their own home or at the restaurant. Additional raffle entries will be available for $10 each to those who wish to make an additional donation to the Open Arms Fund.

Those interested in attending should reserve a space by Friday, Oct. 11 by calling (630) 856-7525. Seating is limited.

While tickets for the event will cover dinner, they do not include a beverage, tax or gratuity.
