Hinsdale – More than 30 people representing the four hospitals of Adventist Midwest Health will travel to Honduras to provide medical care and assistance to hosts Hospital Adventista Valle de Angeles next week.

The hospital representatives from Adventist Bolingbrook, Adventist GlenOaks, Adventist Hinsdale, Adventist La Grange Memorial hospitals will be in Honduras from Jan. 20-27.

While in Honduras, the team will provide medication, medical and dental treatment and donated items to the residents living near the Honduran hospital.

Established in 1974, Hospital Adventista Valle de Angeles (Valley of the Angels Hospital) is a 30-bed facility located in the town of Valle de Angeles, which is about an hour from Honduras’ capital city, Tegucigalpa. The hospital has been one of the Global Partners of Adventist Health International since 2005.

Adventist Midwest Health takes part in an annual mission trip. Since 2006, hospital representatives have traveled to places such as Costa Rica, Ecuador, Ghana and Honduras, providing assistance to people who are in need.

“These mission trips provide much needed help to people and allow us to extend the healing ministry of Christ internationally,” said John Rapp, vice president of ministries and mission for Adventist Midwest Health. “None of that would be possible without the dedication and commitment of the people who volunteer to take this trip every year.”

Adventist Midwest Health Public Relations Regional Director Julie Busch will chronicle the group’s trip to Honduras online through a daily blog for family, friends and co-workers. Visit to keep track of the team’s work.
