Hinsdale – Women
can meet respected health and wellness experts while enjoying an array of
vendors, product samples and door prizes at the 10th annual
Empowering Women: A Health and Spirit Symposium. Keynote speaker Doris K.
Christopher, founder and chairman of The Pampered Chef ®, will share her
personal story of empowerment and entrepreneurship. The event is sponsored by Adventist Hinsdale Hospital
and the Hinsdale Hospital Foundation Assembly Board.
The event takes place 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Sunday, Nov. 2 at the Marriott Oak Brook Hills Resort, 3500 Midwest Road, Oak Brook. For more

“Our hope is that women will leave this event
feeling refreshed and motivated,” said Susan King, executive director of the
Hinsdale Hospital Foundation. “Women of all ages will benefit from these
presentations – designed to stimulate the mind, rejuvenate the body and inspire
the soul.”
Several physicians who treat patients at Adventist Hinsdale Hospital
will address timely health topics. Drs. Steven Smith and Susan Murrey will
present “Uterine Fibroid Embolization: An Alternative to Hysterectomy” and Dr.
Andrew Lawrence will present “Changing the Beat: Treating Heart Rhythm Problems.”
Both hourlong programs will describe new minimally invasive treatments.
Dr. Matthew Harris will present “Healthy, Beautiful
Skin at Every Age,” and Dr. Mita Majmundar will present “Bras and Breasts:
Separating Fact from Fiction about Breast Health and Breast Cancer.”
Other programs include “Getting Organized:
De-Cluttering Your Life,” presented by Kim Costino of The DeClutter Box, and
“Real Life Strategies for Staying Fit and Eating Smart – For You and Your
Family,” presented by Laura Valcour, chef, Suzanne Gray, M.S., and Courtney
DePaulo, Right Fit – Sport Fitness Wellness, LLC.
