Medical Student Clerkships
Hinsdale Family Medicine Residency is pleased to offer Clerkships to third and fourth year medical students. To be eligible, medical students must currently be enrolled in a United States ACGME accredited medical school. Junior clerkships are accepted from the following schools:
- Chicago Osteopathic
- Loma Linda University
- Loyola University
- Northwestern University
- Rush University
- University of Illinois at Chicago.

General Information
Your clerkship will include many of the lectures, seminars and workshops provided for residents and medical staff. You will work directly with residents and attendings without competition from other learners.
You will be asked to provide documentation of immunization status as well as a $25 deposit that will be returned at the end of your clerkship. Parking passes are provided along with a discount toward your food purchases at Adventist Hinsdale Hospital.
Outpatient Family Medicine (Junior Clerkship)
We believe that the Hinsdale Family Medicine Clinics in Hinsdale and our satellite office in Bolingbrook can offer a unique experience in Family Medicine. Throughout your rotation, you will work with residents and faculty in our clinics, the nursing home and the ER. You are also urged to take advantage of all teaching conferences and behavioral science seminars available to the residents.
Fourth Year Clerkships
Fourth year medical students may choose from a variety of clerkships that are available at Adventist Hinsdale Hospital. Some clerkships are predominantly inpatient while others are primarily outpatient. Clerkships are available in the following areas:
- Cardiology
- Emergency medicine
- Family medicine inpatient service
- Gastroenterology
- ICU/CCU
- Infectious disease
- Medicine
- Neurology
- Pulmonary
- Substance abuse
