There are many opportunities to learn and grow professionally through the Hinsdale Family Medicine Residency program. Some examples:
- Electives and core rotations in medicine, pediatrics, OB/Gyne, ICU and surgery
- Daily noon conferences: Teaching didactics for residents presented by our teaching faculty and specialists in core family medicine/pediatrics topics
- CME lectures on Thursdays at noon that cover a broad range of medicine topics presented by guest speakers who are experts in their field
- Morning report: Informal case-based presentation and core medicine review for residents on the medicine service
- Friday morning resident report: Formal case presentations by residents with teaching faculty present to share teaching points
- EKG and Radiology conference
- Behavioral Science and Psychiatry conference, held monthly
- Wednesday afternoon: teaching didactics and procedure labs with specialty clinics in Dermatology and high risk OB.
- Journal Club
- Practice Management series presented by the HFMR Director for second and third year residents to prepare for work after Residency—things you should know-billing, coding, practice set up, PI projects
