Still Missed Pregnancy & Newborn Loss Parent Support Program

Still Missed is a support program designed to help parents cope with the devastating grief of losing a baby. Parents who experience pregnancy loss from miscarriage, stillbirth, or newborn death can find it to be an extremely painful and lonely experience. Well-meaning family and friends may not completely understand their reactions and may not know the best ways to offer support.

As part of the Still Missed Program, an understanding and trained staff is available to those who have recently experienced the death of a baby. After the hospital stay, a member of the Still Missed staff follows up to see how the family is doing, both emotionally and physically. Our goal is to help parents find positive ways to cope and ultimately resolve feelings of grief. The Still Missed program offers:

  1. Trained, experienced counseling staff
  2. Support for the entire family – parents, children and grandparents
  3. Monthly parent support group
  4. Quarterly grandparent support group
  5. Quarterly Spanish-speaking parent support group
  6. Monthly support group for those facing subsequent pregnancy after loss
  7. Lending library of grief materials
  8. Opportunity to help parents feel less alone and better understand feelings of loss
  9. Opportunity for you to help others in your community work through similar experiences
  10. Annual memorial remembrance service
  11. Memorial garden

The Still Missed Parent Support Group meets on the second Monday of each month in the parlor room on the main floor of Tupper Hall at 119 North Oak Street, directly across from Adventist Hinsdale Hospital. The adjacent parking garage, designated for employees, may be used. We meet from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. Please join us.

Recently, the program has expanded to also include Adventist GlenOaks Hospital, Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital, and Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital. However, the program is open to anyone who feels they could benefit from the resources the program offers. You can join the group at any time and attend as many or as few sessions as you wish. The meetings are free and all information shared is confidential.

The Subsequent Pregnancy After Loss Parent Support Group meets on the third Monday of each month from 7:30 to 9:00 pm. in the Calandra Room of Tupper Hall, 119 N. Oak St. Hinsdale, Il 60521. This group provides support and is a place to share coping strategies, relieve anxieties, and share hope as you move forward in a subsequent pregnancy after a loss.
