What is the scope of this project?
The main campus project is a modernization of Adventist Hinsdale Hospital, including changes inside our existing facility as well as construction of a new 100,000 square-foot patient pavilion. When complete, the hospital will have 290 beds, reduced from the current licensed bed count of 342. Among the most notable changes:
- private patient suites including baths,
- updated nursing units,
- relocated critical care services,
- corridors that separate patient and visitor traffic,
- a new lobby and chapel,
- updated labor and delivery suites, including some with whirlpool tubs to promote relaxation
How does the new tower integrate with the existing facility?
The pavilion connects to the existing hospital on every floor, allowing for seamless patient navigation throughout. Staff corridors promote patient privacy during transport to rooms and testing.
Where will the new entrance be located?
A new covered driveway on Oak Street will provide easier access to patient services and registration and protects our guests from the ever-changing weather. For our guests leaving the hospital, there is a private patient pick-up area alongside the main entrance.
When can I see it?
We are hosting an open house for our friends and neighbors from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 25. Come take a tour of our new space and celebrate with us! We expect to move patients into the new area at the end of March, with the new space fully operational in April.
