MP3 Players and Hearing Loss Lecture

The use of MP3 players has risen dramatically in the last several years. Recent research suggests that these devices may contribute to hearing loss. Through an informative discussion, Robert Battista, MD from the Ear Institute of Chicago, LLC in Hinsdale and Dawn Maniskas, AuD, director of the Adventist Pediatric Hearing and Cochlear Implant Program will explore various aspects of MP3 players and hearing. Discussion topics will include: sound levels most likely to cause hearing loss, the types of ear phones that may reduce the risk of hearing loss with MP3 players, medical means of preventing noise-induced hearing loss, and the latest treatments for hearing loss.  Come and find out if you or your family are at-risk.
