Glendale Heights – Adventist GlenOaks Hospital is connecting women to breast and health education with their first free Breast and Women’s Health Education Expo in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
From 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Oct. 29, at Adventist GlenOaks Hospital, 701 Winthrop Ave., Glendale Heights, Adventist GlenOaks Hospital will provide the latest in breast and women’s health education to the local community straight from physicians, nurses and other healthcare providers.
Among the educational speakers is Glendale Heights Mayor and breast cancer survivor Linda Jackson. Jackson will participate in a panel of expert physicians and breast cancer survivors including Dr. Leela Rao, Village of Glendale Heights Parks & Recreation’s Tracy Geils, Adventist GlenOaks Hospital’s Radiology Manager Donna Fitzpatrick, Life Coach Cindy Giles and Lehan Drugs breast cancer and mastectomy product advisor Terri Hettle.
K-LOVE DJ’s Scott and Kelli will emcee this inspirational event, complete with free giveaways, complimentary refreshments and other pink inspired events.
Attendees are encouraged to honor someone they love with a ribbon on the pink tree and visit the pink bake sale, sponsored by Adventist GlenOaks Hospital’s emergency room, in support of GlenOaks Hospital Foundation’s Women’s Health Services Fund.
In addition, women ages 40 and older can register for a chance to win one of 10 free screening mammograms from Adventist GlenOaks Hospital.
The event is also sponsored by K-LOVE Radio and Suburban Woman Magazine.
