AMITA Health Adventist Medical Center, GlenOaks welcomes first baby of 2016
Glendale Heights – AMITA Health Adventist Medical Center, GlenOaks welcomed the first baby of 2016 on New Year’s Day. A girl, Nayeli Lynette, was born to Lisa and Eric Meza of Wood Dale at 1:53 p.m. Friday, Jan. 1, 2016.
Nayeli weighed 6 pounds, 9 ounces and was 18 inches long, and was delivered by Dr. Chong-Hsiang Liang. She will be welcomed home by three older siblings – Darius Reyes, 16, Elijah Meza, 13 and Alexia Meza, 11.
Meza’s due date was January 10, and was scheduled for a C-section on Monday. But when she started having pain and contractions on New Year’s Day, the doctor advised her to head to the hospital for an earlier delivery.
“We never expected to have a New Year’s baby,” Meza said.
