Adventist GlenOaks Hospital names new CEO

Glendale Heights – Adventist GlenOaks Hospital today announced that Bruce C. Christian has accepted the position of Chief Executive Officer. Since July, Christian has served in this role as interim CEO.

It's an exciting time at Adventist GlenOaks Hospital,” said Christian. “In the next few years, I anticipate a tremendous evolution of our facility in order to best meet the needs of our community now and into the future. I’m proud to lead this transformation.”

Christian, 64, is a proven healthcare executive, with more than 38 years of experience and a track record of building strong teams, nurturing strong physician engagement and recruitment, as well as strong community relationships. He replaces Brinsley Lewis, who was the CEO of Adventist GlenOaks Hospital for 12 years before becoming the president/CEO of University Community Hospital-Carrollwood in Tampa, Fla. in August.

Christian has served as the president and CEO of Loma Linda University Medical Center-Murrieta from 2007 to 2011, where he was responsible for the design, development and opening of a new, acute care hospital in Murrieta, Calif. Christian completed the entire construction project in 26 months, and at the same time established a strong medical staff to work at the new hospital.

David L. Crane, president and CEO of Adventist Midwest Health, said Christian will take Adventist GlenOaks Hospital to the next level of patient care.

“Bruce’s experience, coupled with his vision, made him the ideal choice for CEO,” Crane said. “We are focused like never before on ensuring an optimal patient experience. We know our patients and their guests have only the highest expectations for the healing environment around them and for the quality of care they receive during their time with us.”

For more than 30 years, Adventist GlenOaks Hospital has provided highly personalized, compassionate care in Chicago’s western suburbs. A team of more than 300 outstanding physicians admit and treat patients at the hospital and its Level II trauma center. Earlier this month, the hospital was recognized as the 2011 Business of the Year by the Bloomingdale Chamber of Commerce.
