The Assessment and Referral Department serves as an entry point to Behavioral Health Services of GlenOaks Hospital. We provide immediate support for people experiencing psychiatric, behavioral and/or chemical dependency problems.
We’re open 24/7 for people who need immediate support. Crises don’t run on a schedule. That’s why we’re here and ready for patients whenever they arrive, 24 hours a day, every day of the week. The Assessment and Referral Department accepts patients as walk-ins, by scheduled appointment, or when transferred from another health facility. Services
Comprehensive Assessment: Our intake counselors are experts at assessing each person’s needs and determining the types of resources that can best meet those needs. During the initial meeting with the individual (and family or friends, if available), we’ll pinpoint symptoms and recommend a personalized treatment plan and appropriate level of care.
Referrals to Convenient and Appropriate Resources: Our goal is to find the best resources to support each person’s unique needs — wherever those resources may be. We can refer a patient to Adventist Midwest Health’s Behavioral Health programs, or may make referrals to resources outside the Adventist network, including support groups, psychotherapists, substance abuse services or other resources in DuPage, Kane or Cook counties. To ease your stress, our intake counselors also can handle the “business” side of behavioral health admissions, including insurance verification and pre-authorizations. We do our best to ease the transition from our initial meeting to the appropriate provider.
Partnering With You: We’re here to help through your crisis. Trust us to be prompt, supportive, confidential, respectful and knowledgeable.
