Bolingbrook – Residents can learn about ways to address sleep issues during a March 14 presentation at Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital.
Dr. Arnon Rubin will present “Sleepless in Bolingbrook” starting at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 14, at the hospital, 500 Remington Blvd. in Bolingbrook.
To register for this event, please call (630) 856-7525.
Rubin, a board certified sleep specialist and pulmonologist, will discuss common sleep disorders, treatment options and ways sleep disorders are diagnosed, including home sleep testing.
About 70 million Americans have sleep issues, 60 percent of them chronic. Sleep disorders people commonly face include staying awake, sleepwalking, snoring, restless leg syndrome and sleep apnea.
Untreated sleep disorders have been linked to hypertension, heart disease, stroke, depression, diabetes and other chronic diseases.
March is Sleep Awareness Month and the hospital is offering this free discussion to help people better understand the options available to them if they suffer from a sleep disorder, said Ronda Klocko, marketing manager at Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital.
The hospital is home to an American Academy of Sleep Medicine accredited Sleep Disorders Center. The center treats adult patients for all known sleep disorders.
