Glendale Heights – Adventist GlenOaks Hospital is proud to sponsor a community breakfast highlighting the 58th annual National Day of Prayer. Naperville resident Barbara Dwyer, president of Inspire! Ministry for Women, will give the keynote address. This is the 10th year Adventist GlenOaks is sponsoring the event along with other community groups.
An author, mother and human potential expert, Dwyer founded Inspire! Ministry for Women in January 2008. The organization provides Christian services to women through conferences, seminars and monthly luncheons, among other programs.
“Our whole purpose is to equip women with a Christian foundation to live their purpose, find their voice and to celebrate their lives as believers,” Dwyer said. “We represent a number of Christian denominations.”
Members of the media are invited to cover Dwyer’s appearance at the event scheduled for 7:30 to 9 a.m. Thursday, May 7, at the Glendale Lakes Golf Club, 1550 President St., Glendale Heights. The event is free to working media; please RSVP to Lisa Parro at firstname.lastname@example.org or (630) 312-7508 by April 25.
Dwyer's keynote address, “Where is God Today?,” will center on the role of prayer in our daily lives and how it can affect the world. “The spiritual history of prayer holds a central role in the life of most faith traditions,” Dwyer said.
DeLora Hagen, manager of pastoral care at Adventist GlenOaks Hospital, said the prayer breakfast is natural outgrowth of the hospital’s faith-based mission in the community.
“We want to share Christ’s love and healing care beyond the hospital walls,” she said.
Tickets for the general public are available for $20 a person or $150 for a table of eight. Please RSVP by calling (630) 856-7525.
The event also will feature the music ministry of Nate Klinger, director of contemporary worship at Christ Church of Oak Brook.
The event’s other sponsors are: Kiwanis Club of Addison, Addison Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Bloomingdale Chamber of Commerce, Carol Stream Chamber of Commerce, Glendale Heights Chamber of Commerce, Glen Ellyn Chamber of Commerce and Allegra Print & Imaging.
