Bolingbrook – More than 140 golfers gathered together at the Bolingbrook Golf Club Sept. 5 for the Bolingbrook Hospital Foundation’s third annual Golf Classic.

Walsh Construction was the premier sponsor for this year’s golf classic, which raised more than $58,000. The money will enhance services that support patients at Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital, said Derek Cazeau, executive director of the Bolingbrook Hospital Foundation.

“Our golf classic continues to grow, and it’s because of the support from organizations throughout the community,” Cazeau said. “Words cannot express our gratitude for everything that our community partners continue to provide.”

This year’s Golf Classic saw a 20 percent increase in new sponsor participation, and every golf slot for the event was filled. Einstein’s Bros. Bagels provided breakfast for the golfers, while lunch was sponsored by BD Mongolian’s Grill, Chick-Fil-A, Nancy’s Pizza and Andy’s Frozen Custard with dessert.

The golf committee for the event included: Linda Hou, co-chair; Mike Murrill, co-chair; Tom Castagnoli; Derek Cazeau; Ron Hawkins; Bob Jaskiewicz; Kris Kuchler; Herman McKenzie; Jackie Molen; Keith Plywaczynski; Jim Rejowski, M.D.; Kim Riebel; Jim Solari; Rick Trump; and Pat Wallace.

“The members of the golf committee worked hard at making sure this year’s Golf Classic was a success, and I want to thank them for everything they did for the hospital foundation,” said Rick Mace, Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital chief executive officer. “The foundation’s support is an essential component to helping the hospital provide essential care and services to our community.”
