Celebrate women Nov. 6 with hospital, chamber
Bolingbrook – Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital and the Lemont Chamber of Commerce will partner this November to offer area women an evening of shopping, spa treatments, health and wellness.
“Celebrating Women … Beauty and Health” will take place from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, at the Ruffled Feathers Golf Club, 1 Pete Dye Drive in Lemont.
Dr. Buthaina Jabir will speak on nutrition and health from 6:30-7 p.m. Jabir is a board certified in obstetrician/gynecologist and is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
“Proper nutrition is so important to overall wellness,” Jabir said. “And eating well is not overly difficult. With just a little bit of planning, healthy eating can be both beneficial and delicious.”
According to the Illinois Department of Public Health, a well-balanced diet includes various foods that meet a woman’s nutritional needs. It recommends women pay attention to how much calcium, iron and folate is in their diet, and that they minimize how much fat and sugar they eat.
Registration is $25 in advance and $30 at the door the evening of the event. To register, contact the Lemont Chamber of Commerce at (630) 257-5997.
